The aim of the experience will be to connect the two cultures of Oman and United Kingdom for selected pupils.

The trip has been organised with the help of Jeremy Gane, who runs a specialist travel company and has been at the forefront of charity challenge who manage big trips for red nose day such as Killimanjaro and the more recent trip with Jack Dee and various other celebrities. The ground crew will be managed by the very experienced team From Outward Bound Oman. Mark Evans leads the successful team and has extensive expedition experience and has also written a book called desert voices, where he and a colleague retraced the steps of William Thesiger through the Empty Quarter.

The next phase will be a tough selection process for staff and pupils and then onto fundraising.

Please contact the school if you or a business would like to help with sponsorship.

We look forward to the next instalment.
