Pizza Express Visit
Barker class have been asked to design a pizza as part of their Food Technology studies.
The pupils will need to research products, design, plan and test their pizzas. As part of their research the class visited Pizza Express in Cirencester, here they were shown how the pizza bases are prepared, they kneaded and shaped the dough to fit the pizza pans. The pupils then added a topping of tomato and basil sauce and then mozzarella. The manager explained how the Marguerita is named after Queen Marguerite of Italy and represents the colours of the Italian flag. The pizzas were cooked and tasted by the pupils, who all agreed that they were delicious. All the visitors were presented with a Junior Pizzaiolo (pizza chef) certificate before returning to school after a very enjoyable and informative morning.
